Tasnim is an award-winning journalist, author,  freelance TV reporter and presenter based in London. She became the first hijab-wearing TV reporter when she was in Scotland in July 2020 deemed to have made ‘TV history’ and since went on to report for STV News, 5 News and ITN. She has also written for a variety of print and online publications including The Huffington Post, Al Jazeera English, BBC, CNN, The Guardian, TRT World and many more.

She also regularly presents her Pause for Thought segments on BBC Radio 2 and was a live TV commentator and paper reviewer on BBC Scotland Seven Days  TV show and BBC Radio Scotland’s Sunday Morning Show where she would review the papers.  She has also been a live commentator on France 24, BBC Big Questions, BBC Newsday on World Service and Women’s Hour on BBC Radio 4.

Tasnim was awarded the Rising Stars in Media Awards 2018 by FIPP the global network of media. She was the winner of the Muslim News Awards for Excellence 2013 Ibn Battuta Award for Excellence in Media for her investigative, human rights and interfaith journalism and a finalist at the Asian Media Awards for Journalist of the Year 2022.

She received the Ambassador for Peace Award from the Universal Peace Federation for her interfaith journalism work in promoting better interfaith relations.

Tasnim is the author of the children’s books Allah’s Gifts published by Greenbird Book Publishers, Aleena Celebrates Eid and Its Ramadan published by IIPH.  She also authored an academic book entitled ‘Islamic Finance: A Practical Introduction’ published by Kube Publishing.

She is a brilliant conference and keynote speaker who covers issues such as international affairs, diversity, media, journalism, women’s empowerment, equality and more.
