Dr Göran Carstedt
Biography
Göran Carstedt is a familiar name in commerce as the former Head of IKEA Retail Europe and the Swedish VOLVO sales organisation. But Göran is slightly less well known as the former senior advisor on the Climate Change Initiative from within US President Bill Clinton’s administration. But when you look at IKEA’s many green initiatives, it starts to make sense. As one of the EU’s top business minds and the fuelling force behind the Society for Organisational Learning, he’s a practical speaker on business, sustainability and economics.
His PhD in economics was achieved in 1974 at the University of Umea and serves as a theoretical foundation for his progressive stances in business. As a speaker, Göran can tap into his time leading IKEA or working at a senior level in VOLVO to compare and contrast the approach of both organisations as a framework for future business, sustainability and profitability. His insights and anecdotes help audiences understand the inner workings of these commercial giants.
