Biography

Anna Gumbau is an international event moderator, keynote speaker, and strategic communications expert known for her electrifying energy, editorial instinct, and unmistakable ability to make a room come alive.

With more than 200 events behind her, from major European policy debates to global climate conferences, Anna brings both substance and showmanship to the stage. She knows which thread to pull, when to challenge a speaker, and how to turn an audience from passive observers into active participants. Her creative use of audience interaction ensures that people are part of the conversation, while her warmth and spontaneity create the memorable moments that give every event its own spark.

Anna specialises in events focused on environmental and social impact, particularly climate, energy, sustainability, and the just transition. Before becoming a full time moderator, she worked as a journalist specialising in energy and climate change. Her work has appeared in Deutsche Welle, El País, Euractiv, FORESIGHT Climate and Energy, and Carbon Pulse, and she has been featured on Euronews.

Fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Catalan, Anna navigates multilingual and international settings with ease. She has interviewed European Commissioners, CEOs, technical experts, entrepreneurs, and activists, making complex ideas accessible without stripping them of their substance.

As a keynote speaker, Anna explores women’s leadership, authority, visibility, and the power of speaking up. Her signature keynote, The Authority Paradox, challenges the belief that women must first feel confident or be recognised as authorities before expressing their ideas. Instead, she reveals how authority is built by speaking, challenging the conversation, and becoming visible before we feel completely ready.
