Will Njobvu
His passion for public speaking has led him to speak in front of large audiences for some of the UK’s leading organisations such as Tik Tok, Aviva, The British Heart Foundation, MediaCom & LinkedIn. He has also hosted career related talks at De Montfort University in Leicester.
Diversity, inclusion and racial equality is a topic close to Will’s heart as he was racially abused in school and college. Now, he is determined to make change, educate and inspire. Will believes more work still needs to be done on racism – in 2020, he was racially abused at a train station in London and it was widely reported in the press: https://www.dailymail.
This led him to be invited to MediaCom to deliver a talk on the importance of diversity in the workplace and it was well received by the audience. Media Executive, Vivienne Dovi said: “Will’s delivered a thorough and educational presentation about diversity and it left the whole company filled with knowledge and ideas on how to improve.” More recently, Tik Tok invited Will to speak about the important of authentic black representation on social media.
In 2022, Will came out as gay on Tik Tok and live on his radio show. He very quickly received death threats & a large amount of abuse on social media but that didn’t stop him from fighting through and living his truth. A month after, Will was asked to host Pride in London’s LGBT concert ‘Proud and Loud’ at Britain’s iconic venue Royal Albert Hall. A month after that, he hosted the annual ‘Pride in London’ concert in London’s Trafalgar Square alongside London Mayor Sadiq Khan. One of Will’s core messages is to be yourself and live your truth fearlessly.
Overcoming adversity, identity, sexuality, mental health and heart health are more topics Will is able to speak about. He was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse at the age of 22, a heart condition he doesn’t let define him. Doctors told him he could have dropped dead if he hadn’t been diagnosed in time. On behalf of the British Heart Foundation, he has delivered a talk to number of young people who are living with heart conditions like him. In 2022, Will gave out awards at British Heart Foundation’s annual Heart Hero Awards.
As a member of the LGBT community who was bullied because of his sexuality in school, Will enjoys speaking about the importance of being comfortable with your identity and taking care of your mental health ; as he too has overcome depression in the past.
In addition, Will’s work as a presenter in TV and radio means he is able to bring fun and entertainment to after dinner speeches.
