An iconic figure in English cricket, Monty Panesar played in 50 tests, taking 167 wickets. A left arm spin bowler Monty made waves from the moment he arrived on the international scene, taking the wicket of the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar in his first test. He and his teammates then went on to win the Ashes twice and a test series in India for the first time in 28 years.

Monty attracted a cult following wherever he played and spent much of his career with Northamptonshire, as well as Sussex and Essex. One of his finest moments was with the bat at Cardiff, where England managed to draw the test against Australia in one the greatest escapes in British sporting history.

Monty graduated with an MA in International sports journalism and is now pursuing a successful career in the media as a Presenter, Commentator and Pundit, in high demand for his insights and opinions on the sport he loves. He also presents a podcast called ” Monty Meets” where he interviews sports stars about life at the top and after retirement.

Monty is a popular keynote speaker at events and for corporate clients, sharing memories and insights from his remarkable cricketing career. Wellness and mental health are among the themes close to his heart and he’s able to speak with compassion and insight, sharing what he’s learnt on his sporting journey. Monty also speaks on diversity and inclusion. The first Sikh ever to play cricket for England, for him there’s no conflict between his religion, his roots and the three lions shirt.
