Biography

Mariam Zaidi is a British broadcaster and news presenter specialising in global affairs, politics, UK news, business and technology. Currently a news anchor at TRT World, her career has included anchoring live coverage of the world’s biggest events — from the seismic shifts of the Trump presidency to leading hours of breaking news on the war in Gaza and the wider Middle East conflict.

Mariam has worked at major international news networks including the BBC, CNBC and Euronews, where she notably broke the news of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Today, she leverages this extensive newsroom expertise moderating at some of the biggest international conferences and global forums, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Money20/20 and VivaTech in Paris.

A moderator and event host (MC) with wide sector expertise across tech, geopolitics and EU policy, Mariam is an in-demand health specialist and Brussels moderator. She works in London, across Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Mariam holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from City, St George’s, University of London, and an LLB (Hons) in Law.
