Biography

Hein Wagner has been blind since birth—but his life story is anything but limited. With a CV that reads like an adventure novel, Hein has completed the Absa Cape Epic, the Antarctica Marathon, the New York and Two Oceans Marathons, the Cape to Rio Yacht Race, a full Ironman, and even holds the World Blind Land Speed Record at 322.52 km/h.

But Hein’s true calling is inspiring others to see beyond their limitations. For over 15 years, he has worked as a full-time international keynote speaker, delivering powerful, humorous, and deeply moving presentations to audiences ranging from intimate leadership teams to global conferences with 15,000 attendees.

His signature keynote, “A Blind Man with Vision,” takes audiences on a journey of resilience, possibility, and purpose. With authenticity and self-deprecating humour, Hein invites listeners to laugh, reflect, and reconsider what they believe is possible—not just for themselves, but for their organisations and communities.
