John Romero
John Romero earned himself the reputation of gaming’s original rockstar after creating some of the biggest titles in video game history.
Much of his work still dominates the global market today after developing the hugely popular DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstein. John’s programming career began in the 1990s and he’s been in-demand ever since, most recently as a keynote speaker sharing his expertise of the industry. He’s credited with the invention of the first-person shooter, a format that still dominates gaming today.
So it’s perhaps no surprise that John has won over 100 awards and helped define a thriving global business in which he set up eight successful companies. John is a true visionary who has created new worlds through the video game industry which have kept the audience hooked in a fiercely competitive business.
His life story has been told in John’s recently published book ‘Doom Guy: Life in First Person’ which lays out his life story and his motivation to succeed. As a keynote speaker John talks in depth about gaming, innovation, computer science, design and technology.
He’s accomplished addressing corporate events, personal appearances, speeches or other similar events. Previously, John has spoken about constant change in the industry from the early days of cassettes and discs to eight bit computers and PCs. John has had a front row seat in the world of gaming and kept the industry relevant, engaging, entertaining, pioneering and innovative.
