Ade Adepitan

Sports Speaker, Presenter, Anti-Discrimination Champion, Paralympian

Ade Adepitan MBE is a wheelchair basketball player and former Paralympian who won bronze as part of the British 2004 Summer Paralympics team. Ade then went on to win gold at the 2005 Paralympic World Cup in Manchester. Due to the discrimination he’s faced as a Nigerian-born citizen and polio survivor, Ade is a compelling and moving anti-discrimination speaker, philanthropist and anti-racism voice for modern Britain.

On the screen, Ade featured on the 2002 BBC One ident Hip-Hop, Xchange for the CBBC, EastEnders, Desperados and the 4-part documentary Beyond Boundaries. As a powerful voice in sport, Ade was a key presenter for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, 2014 Winter Paralympic Games, the Rio 2016 Paralympics and the Invictus Games.

In 2022 he was one of the lead presenters for Channel 4’s coverage of the Beijing Winter Paralympics.

Notably, Ade travelled from west Africa to Lagos to film the self-referentially titled “Africa with Ade Adepitan”, a popular 4-part 2019 documentary for BBC Two.

As an events speaker and presenter, Ade is a calm and self-assured Londoner with a warm, relatable personality and strong personal story that’s thought-proving and confronting for all audiences.
