Michael McIntyre is one of the UK’s most popular comedians and host of the hugely successful Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on BBC1, which has won BAFTA nominations and the National Television Award for Best Entertainment Show. As an Event and Awards Host or an After Dinner Speaker, Michael brings laughter, profile and star quality.
Michael was born into the business. His father Ray Cameron was Kenny Everett’s co-writer when Michael arrived into the family in Wimbledon in 1976, but there were challenges. His parents divorced when he was seven and his father died when he was 17. When Michael McIntyre left Edinburgh University after a year to pursue his dream, he faced a long, tough slog, deriving strength from the support of his wife Kitty, whom he met when he was 23. They have two sons.
Michael’s big breakthrough came at the Royal Variety Performance in 2006 and he’s enjoyed a stellar ascent since. Prime-time slots for his own Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel have made him a household name and he’s been a hugely successful guest on Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. Michael was a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and has also appeared on shows like Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News for You, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Would I Lie To You? and The Apprentice: You’re Fired!

Half a million people came to see his first UK tour in 2009 including record breaking dates at Wembley and over the years he’s been one of the world’s highest earning comedians. His tours have sold over four million tickets and he holds the record for the highest-selling artist at London’s O2, the UK’s biggest arena, for 28 sold-out shows.
