Laila has 15 years experience in the front line of global news broadcasting. Before DW News, she worked as a broadcast journalist for the Associated Press, covering world-shaping events in Brussels, The Hague, Kosovo, Palestine, Israel, Egypt and other hot spots, interviewing influential leaders, activists and power brokers.
Laila has extensive conference experience on the stage and behind the scenes. In 2018 she hosted Berlin’s War or Peace Festival, moderated a panel on food security for CARE in 2017 and hosted the 2015 Deauville Partnership Conference.
